TEXAS
I have a special place in my heart for Texas because I am a Texan! The beaches, bluebonnets, hills, and lakes are what make Texas incredibly beautiful and fun. The state is so diverse from Big Bend National Park, to the Chinati Mountains of Marfa, to the hill country of Austin, to the warm beaches of South Padre.
Some of my favorite spots are wine tasting in Fredericksberg, listening to some live music on South Congress in Austin, and eating at some amazing restaurants in Houston’s trendy Heights neighborhood or along San Antonio’s Riverwalk.
If you want to be out in the sun, how about a cool dip in Barton Springs or an afternoon at the greatest waterpark in the world, Schlitterbahn, or even some live music at Austin City Limits Festival at Zilker Park! If you want to explore the arts and history of Texas, Fort Worth’s Kimbell Museum, Marfa’s Chinati Foundation, Houston’s Menil Collection and San Antonio’s Alamo will definitely impress.
Are you looking for more of a relaxed trip? How about enjoying a drink and some two-stepping at the historic Gruene Hall in Texas Hill country after a day floating down the Guadalupe River? Or what about a bike ride brewery tour through some of Houston’s most happening neighborhoods or a weekend at a spa overlooking Lake Austin? But one thing that you can’t miss is in Texas is the food.
