ENGLAND

England’s historic cities, beautiful castles, and classic pubs are always rewarding visits from which I always seem to come away with new stories. The history of battlefields and castles across England may be remarkable, but the landscape of Britain is a beautiful attraction of its own. Walking through amazing gardens and hiking across the stark countryside are great ways to prepare for a warm meal (and beer!) at the village pub. The bed and breakfasts are cozy and the sites are ancient and incredible! A great spot to visit is the town of Chester. It was an old Roman fortress, and it is full of character, with a huge ancient rock wall surrounding the town of old Victorian and Tudor buildings. You can’t miss one of the most magnificent medieval fortresses in all of Britain, Conwy Castle in Wales. This massive medieval fortress built in the 1280s by the English monarch Edward I, has breathtaking views overlooking the mountains and sea.

You can’t forget London! London is always a bounty of discovery full of world class museums, theatre, shops and grand views. Here, you can also explore The Tower of London, a historic castle built in 1078 or take a ride on the London Eye for breathtaking views of the city. There are many things to not miss and one of my favorites is the Chelsea Flower Show, this famous annual flower show is incredible and full of avant-garde show gardens! It is surprising just how numerous are the many jewels packed onto this island country.
